Notingly ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your personal data. It applies to your use of the Notingly application and website (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve the Service:

• Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name and email address.
• User identifiers: We assign each account a unique user ID, which is linked to your Stripe customer ID if you subscribe to a Pro plan.
• Web traffic data: We collect standard web traffic metrics (such as page views and referral sources) to understand aggregate usage of the Service.
• Performance data: We collect frontend and backend performance data — such as error rates and request latency — to monitor service health and diagnose issues.

We do not collect or store the content of your notes. Notes are saved exclusively in your browser's local storage on your device and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

We do not track your usage behavior within the app (e.g., which notes you open, how often you use specific features, or your editing patterns).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To create and manage your account.
• To process and manage your Pro subscription and billing through Stripe.
• To communicate with you about your account, subscription, or changes to the Service.
• To monitor and maintain the performance, reliability, and security of the Service.
• To respond to your inquiries and support requests.
• To comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage & Security

Account data (name, email address, user ID, and Stripe customer ID) is stored on servers located in the United States, using Supabase infrastructure. If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

All data in transit between your browser and our servers is protected using HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or higher encryption. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

While we take reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Third-Party Services

We work with the following third-party service providers:

• Stripe: We use Stripe, Inc. to process subscription payments. When you subscribe to a Pro plan, your payment card details are entered directly on Stripe's secure infrastructure. Notingly never sees, receives, or stores your payment card information. Your use of Stripe's services is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase: We use Supabase to store account data (name, email, user ID, and Stripe customer ID) and to manage authentication. Supabase infrastructure is hosted in the United States. You can learn more at Supabase's Privacy Policy.
• Analytics & performance monitoring: We use analytics and performance monitoring tools to collect aggregate web traffic metrics and application performance data (error rates, latency). These tools do not track individual user behavior or note content.

We do not integrate with any advertising networks or data brokers, and we do not use third-party tracking pixels or behavioral advertising tools.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and comply with legal obligations.

You may request deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time by contacting us at notingly@gmail.com. Upon receiving a verified deletion request, we will delete your account information (name, email address, user ID, and Stripe customer ID linkage) within a reasonable timeframe, unless retention is required by applicable law (for example, for tax or accounting purposes).

Because your notes are stored locally in your browser, deleting your account does not delete your notes. To remove your notes, clear your browser's local storage directly through your browser settings.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us at notingly@gmail.com and we will promptly delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the Service. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Your continued use of the Service after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
