Overview
Notingly is a local-first markdown workspace for everyday notes, structured writing, and longer drafts.
Your notes stay in your browser storage by default, with practical tools for organizing, searching, and
exporting your work.
Writing and formatting
Type in the main editor for live markdown rendering. Use the toolbar for quick formatting, or type
/ to open slash commands for headings, lists, code, links, tables, and more.
Use View β Raw markdown mode to work in plain markdown text when you want exact source
control.
Notes and organization
Manage multiple notes from the left pane. Use search, sorting, tags, pinning, read-only lock, trash, and
snapshots to keep large spaces organized and recoverable.
Use note list controls to quickly pin, remove, or open notes, and restore items from Trash when needed.
File and space workflows
Use the File menu to open local files, save, save as, print, and export PDF. Use
Open space and Save space to import or export multiple notes together.
You can also create notes from built-in templates, split notes by headings, and merge selected notes into
a single new note.
Productivity tools
Use command palette (Ctrl/Cmd+K) and quick switch (Ctrl/Cmd+J) for
keyboard-first navigation. Find/replace, document statistics, and LLM token count help you review and
refine content quickly.
Views and focus
Switch between reading mode, focus mode, and full screen mode for distraction control. Use graph view to
explore relationships between notes and tags.
Settings and personalization
Customize mode, theme palette, density, typeface, scale, writing direction, and reading behavior. Optional
fun tools include streak and visual celebration effects.
Data ownership and backup
Notingly is local-first. Notes are stored in browser storage for privacy and fast access. Export your space
regularly as a backup, especially before clearing data or switching devices.
